Paula Langley’s experience of volunteering

Since registering as a Volunteer with Voluntary Action, Paula Langley has worked as an advisor with the Citizen's Advice Bureau in Barrhead for almost 2 years now.

After Paula undertook basic training with a number of others, she went on to specialise in areas of particular interest to her including housing advice and employment tribunal representation. Not content with this, Paula is now about to embark on the Benefits Appeal Training.

Paula says, 'I have found voluntary work thoroughly enjoyable and should have done it a long time ago.' She hopes that this will lead to a full time post in the future.

The manager of East Renfrewshire Citizen's Advice Bureau, Theresa O'Hara, states, 'Paula has proved herself to be a very reliable and committed volunteer who, without exception, puts the interests of her clients first. Paul seems to relish the challenges! It's obvious that she enjoys the work. Not only has she established herself as an invaluable member of the team, it looks like she's taking up the role of social convenor!'
